Group buying sites like Groupon and LivingSocial have truly made an impact in relatively short order and given consumers amazing deals at deep discounts in return. But is this whole group buying craze a solid, long term business model or a fad? Will it boom for a few years then come crashing down as consumers get tired of stagnant offers and ignore the daily email solicitations?
On time will tell but I subscribe to Groupon, LivingSocial and DealOn daily offers. When Facebook Deals and Google's Group Buying hits my area, I too will sign up for their daily/weekly emails in hope of finding a deal on something I may already be buying or thought of purchasing/using but was not willing to pay full price for it.
Regardless of how it turns out, I say enjoy it while it is around because there is nothing bad about a discount.
