If you search or surf the web, more than likely cookies are being dropped on your computer which allow advertisers to market to you based on your online behavior. This form of marketing is called behavioral targeting and is VERY effective at getting your message out to an audience that fits your "perfect client" mold.
But it is also annoying to online consumers who are aware that they are being targeted. My personal thought is that people are a little turned off by the Big Brotherish feel this form of advertising gives off. I also think there is a misconception of how much information is being shared whereas they feel the advertiser knows THEM personally and not just a pattern in search/surf which triggers the behavioral targeting.
Whether you implement it or not is totally up to your own personal feelings on the technology. Let’s talk about it. Give me a call. I am Alan Moore and my job is to help you grow your business through online advertising! Give me a call at (877)655-3438 to schedule a free consultation.
