According to a May 2011 survey by Corona Insights and Topix, 90% of national advertising agencies (with revenues of at least $500 million) had clients who wanted to run geographically targeted online advertising campaigns:
Still not convinced? For those national ad agencies who said that their clients were asking for more geotargeted ads, 37% said their client requests had doubled from 2010 and 15% said the requests had more than doubled.
So why are the requests increasing? Perhaps national ad agencies and their clients are recognizing local ads provide better return on investment (ROI); over 50% of these agencies stated that ROI was higher compared to other buys.
