Consider Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, and Angie's List. What do all these sites have in common? These sites have become a means in which consumers are posting their feedback about local businesses. Baltimore social media users are going online to discuss why they shop at a certain store, including their own personal experiences. Need facts? According to a study performed by ROI Research, "fifty-three percent of the surveyed social network users said they provide feedback to the brand or retailer via social network sites—and 47% said they express disappointment with the brand when they see fit" (eMarketer).
Another interesting discovery from the study: consumers complain about particular business types. The respondents indicated that they express their discontentment more so for firms focusing on household products, telecommunications, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. Does your firm fall into one of these categories?
